Empowering the Next Generation of Women in Cybersecurity

I had the privilege of joining an inspiring Cyber Industry Panel at Maryville University, hosted in partnership with Girls Inc. The event brought together young women from high schools across the St. Louis metro area to explore the world of cybersecurity and technology, and it was energizing to witness their curiosity, confidence, and drive.
As part of the panel alongside respected professionals Erica Wilson, CISSP, CISM, and Travis Jones, we shared our journeys in the cyber industry, discussed the evolving threat landscape, and highlighted the endless opportunities that exist for women in tech.
Giving back to the next generation is deeply personal to me. Mentorship and representation matter, especially in cybersecurity, where diversity of thought and perspective strengthens how we defend the systems shaping our world.
A special thank you to Professor Phyllis Davis, Dr. Brian M. Gant and the Maryville University Simon School of Business, Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS), Cyversity, and the Global Center for Cybersecurity @ Cortex for organizing such a meaningful initiative.
